JIS Battery Codes explained
JIS stands for Japanese industrial Standard, the present Japanese Standards Association was established in 1945. There are standards for many electrical and engineering products and batteries are one of them. The numbers used in the code relate to the performance, size and polarity of the battery.
A = This is the battery’s performance rank it is a combination of starting performance and capacity the higher the rank the higher the batteries performance
B = This is the width and height of the battery box (mm)
C = This is the approximate length (CM)
D = This is the position of the terminals
