Hello, my name is Josh and I’ve been doing work experience at County Battery Services for Graphic Design and Digital Marketing.
On the first day I learnt how to use photoshop and all of its tools for different tasks. I was also shown how the company manages its social media and how to schedule a post to be uploaded. I was also shown how the company uses lean which includes the 8 deadly wastes, principles of the company and 2 second savings in their work on a daily basis. By the end of the day I was able to make an image to promote a giveaway using photoshop and knew how to make clipart images using it as well. So far, I have learnt a lot about design and social media and am sure that I will learn more during the week.
I’ve just come to the end of the second day and I can say that I’ve learnt a lot. I now know how to use Dropbox, how to send invitations on Trustpilot and how to edit a video. By the end of the day we managed to record a video showing how to build a drill battery pack and managed to start editing it. By the end of tomorrow, we’re hoping to finish editing it and maybe even post it on County Battery’s YouTube channel. Overall, I’ve had a great day and have learned a lot.
The third day has just passed and I’m feeling pretty good about what I’ve accomplished today. In the morning we finished editing the video we recorded yesterday and have even uploaded it to YouTube! We also finished sending out the Trustpilot invitations and scheduled a post on twitter and Facebook for a giveaway contest. Another good day and I’m excited for what tomorrow will bring.
After the fourth day I have learned quite a few new things and gained new experience related to the job. In the morning we went to check Facebook after the giveaway was posted and it had almost 100 replies on Twitter! After noting all of the names down to enter them into the giveaway contest we moved onto e-bay to list some of County Battery’s products. I hadn’t used e-bay before, so it was very new to me but before long I was able to list some products on my own. Towards the end of the day I managed to get some experience in the shop and was shown around the warehouse. I feel like I understand the company a lot better after today and am excited for tomorrow.
On the fifth day I was able to be a part of the team at County Battery. In the morning I was able to help with the 3S’s and part of the daily meeting. We also built a standing desk for Robbie which I enjoyed as I had not done a lot of DIY beforehand which meant that I gained some experience from it. I also checked on social media to see if the giveaway contest post had any more engagements and saw that the comments, likes and shares had grown by 150 on twitter and 100 on Facebook. This was very exciting to see, knowing that I helped to make the post. Finally, we recorded a video blog where I was asked to talk about my experience at County Battery. Overall, I have really enjoyed my time at County Battery and will not forget it.
