County Battery’s mascot Superdick will be back at his superhero duties again by participating in the annual Community Racing Day, to raise thousands of pounds for the charity to help Macmillan. The annual racing day is part of an initiative of a partnership between Nottingham Racecourse, Nottingham Post and Macmillan to raise funds and help thousands of people battling cancer every year in Nottingham. The day is full of free entertainment, games and pony rides for children along with seven horse races. However, the highlight of the afternoon is the sporting and corporate mascot race, where our superhero Superdick will be representing County Battery in this good cause for second year in a row as the defending champion. County Battery has always taken pride in participating in charity events and help raise funds. County Battery’s Richard Fuller has been involved in lots of events in the past which has helped charitable communities and trusts raise valuable funds for different causes. Richard is looking forward to the race day and has said, “County Battery family is extremely proud and inspired to be part of such a noble cause and are working on different avenues to raise funds for Macmillan. With more people being diagnosed for cancer, Macmillan is in a greater demand and our aim to raise £1000 or even more which will help support range of services that they provide and make a difference to individuals and their families affected by cancer.” Tanya Taylor, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said, “We are absolutely thrilled that County Battery are taking part in the Mascot Race. The monies raised will help to provide vital medical, practical, financial and emotional services to people affected by cancer within Nottinghamshire when they need it most.  Thank you so much and good luck for the big day!” Tickets are from £15 per person and children under 18 have completely free entry.
